It started in 2019 on a hike through the Himalayas, not with a business plan. Our founder was on a multi-week trip through Northern India when he was shown raw Shilajit for the first time in a small mountain village — a resin-like substance that's been used in Ayurvedic practice for thousands of years, but was barely known in the West.
Back in Europe, he tried to buy the same product he'd seen in the mountains. What he found were mostly heavily-marketed online shops with unclear sourcing, no lab certificates, and products that sometimes didn't even meet minimum purity standards for human consumption. That exact frustration was the starting point for PeakModo.

From Idea to First Jar
The team spent the first two years building direct relationships with harvesting communities above 3,000 meters in the Himalayas — where Shilajit naturally seeps out of rock crevices, far from industry and pollution. Instead of buying through multiple middlemen, as is common in the industry, every step of the supply chain was built and documented individually.
At the same time, the idea for Sentuel™, our Ashwagandha formula, took shape. While Shilajit is mainly known for energy and vitality, customers kept telling us about a second recurring need: something for everyday stress that doesn't take months to work and that you can take daily without worry. After more than a year of testing different extract ratios, the final formula landed at 10% withanolide content — a deliberately high but well-tolerated concentration.
