Why PeakModo exists — and why it's different by design

PeakModo didn't start in a boardroom. It started with a simple, frustrating discovery: the overwhelming majority of Shilajit and Ashwagandha sold online — even the products wrapped in beautiful packaging and confident marketing language — comes from the same handful of anonymous bulk suppliers. The resin gets harvested at low altitude, processed with heat and chemical shortcuts that destroy its mineral content, relabeled three or four times as it changes hands, and finally sold to a customer who has no real way of knowing what they're actually putting in their body.

We built PeakModo because we refused to accept that as the standard. Real Shilajit only forms above 3,000 meters in the Himalayas, where the air is thin, the rock is mineral-dense, and the resin seeps out in a process that takes the mountain decades to complete. We go there. We work directly with the small harvesting communities who have collected it for generations, rather than buying through trading houses who have never seen the source themselves. Every relationship is direct, every step is documented, and every batch can be traced back to exactly where it came from.

The same philosophy shaped our Ashwagandha line. Instead of settling for a generic root powder at a low withanolide percentage — the industry default — we spent over a year working with cultivators to develop a standardized extract at a meaningfully higher concentration, then verified it independently rather than simply printing a number on the label and hoping nobody checked.

This is, deliberately, a slower and more expensive way to build a supplement brand. It's also the only way we were willing to do it.
